G20 Summit: Chinese Xi Jinping and Russian Putin attend, US boycott?, Ukraine Zelensky attending? Why?

In November, there is the G20 summit. Since the host country is Indonesia, we have the right to invite from Indonesia.

So I invited Xi Jinping of China and Putin of Russia, and Indonesian President "Jokowi" said that Xi Jinping and Putin were in attendance. Indonesia is also inviting Ukrainian President "Volodymyr Zelensky", who is at war with Russia, to draw the world's attention. 

By the way, with talk of China's Xi Jinping and Russia's Putin in attendance, there is talk that the United States could boycott the G20 summit.

Let's take a look at the presence of the leaders of China and Russia, why U.S. leaders are boycotting, and infer what countries will exchange through the G20 summit.

 

● Who are the G20 countries and why are China and Russia participating? 

The G20 refers to the G7 countries "United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, and Japan" and "Presidency of the European Union" and the 12 countries in the Emerging Industrial Economic Area: "Korea, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Turkie". 

Sometimes people wonder if China and Russia can attend the G20, but the possibility of eligibility has been around for a long time. 

However, in the case of Russia, the country is under sanctions from the international community because of the Ukraine war, so many Western countries were concerned about inviting Russia's Putin to the G20 summit. 

That is why Indonesian President "Jokowi" was displeased with the act of sending invitations to both China and Russia to attend. 

However, since Indonesia is the host country of the G20, it was not possible to impose the sanctions as it should. 

Why are China and Russia attending the G20 summit and why? 

 

● China's Economic Crisis and Xi Jinping's Long-Term Rule

China's leader "Xi Jinping" is facing a crisis. It is precisely because of the economic crisis inside China. China has experienced high growth since 2000. 

In particular, real estate is a very important sector in China, with the real estate construction sector accounting for more than 30% of China's GDP. However, there was a problem in the field of real estate construction.

In 2021, the real estate market is shaken by the failure of the "Henda Group" to pay some interest on the bonds. This "Henda" crisis has put suppliers at risk. And it also had a bad impact on real estate prices. 

China's "Henda" is not the only one with problems. Chinese real estate builders such as "Rudi, Puri, Yang Guangcheng, Sumao, Jinker, Huaxia, Longchuang, Zhongnan, Taihe" also have serious funding problems. 

When China's real estate construction and development companies have a problem, construction is halted in the middle, people are not paying interest on loans to buildings, banks are in a crisis of insolvency, and they are even doing bank runs. 

China's bigger problem lies aside. Originally, when China is building real estate, China's local government guarantees loans to real estate developers. If real estate developers go bankrupt, the real estate debts must be paid off by the local government.

And while the amount of that debt was 28 trillion yuan in 2021, it exceeded 33 trillion yuan in 2022. It is about 6300 trillion won in Korean money and about 4.4955 trillion won in the United States. 

For China's leader, Xi Jinping, during the "National People's Congress" in October, he must be in power for a long time. Perhaps Xi Jinping will remain in power for the long term, but because of China's real estate problems, discontent is likely to build up from within. This is likely to lead to a revolution towards the Communist Party of China.  

So it seems like you're going to attend this G20 summit and make your own achievements.

 

● Russian President "Putin" risks war and Ukraine "Zelensky" attends?

Russia began the war by invading Ukrainian territory on February 24, 2022. But with more than 3 days of war expected by Putin, the war is prolonging. 

Ukraine, with the support of the West, is effectively defeating the Russian army. And President Zelensky of Ukraine has vowed not to hold a ceasefire until he has regained all the territory lost from Russia in the war. 

Russia has also stated that it will continue the war until it achieves its goal of liberating the Russian population inside Ukraine and occupying territory. 

But for both sides, it's not easy as the war prolongs. 

Putin will attend the talks to give Russia the feeling that Russia has been subjected to Western economic sanctions because of the war, but rather that Russia is sound. And through bilateral talks with China's Xi Jinping, economic cooperation against the West is expected to increase further. 

If Putin attends the G20, Ukrainian President Zelensky has also said he will attend. Originally, Ukraine was not a G20 country, but since the host country, Indonesia, sent an invitation, Ukraine can also attend the G20 summit.

If Putin and Zelensky attend the G20 summit, there is a possibility that a bilateral meeting between Russia and Ukraine will be held. 

However, what both Russia and Ukraine think is so different that the chances of a meeting taking place seem low at the moment. 

 

 

● American boycott?

The U.S. is likely not attending the G20 summit because it doesn't want to see the two as a democratic leader, saying that the current adversary, Russia "Putin," and China's "Xi Jinping," a quasi-adversary, are in attendance. 

The U.S. imposed economic sanctions on Russia in March, because if Russian Putin were to attend while demonstrating his sanity, it wouldn't help the U.S. very much. This is because the status of the United States can decline. 

The U.S. is advocating for the exclusion of Russia from the G20 summit, so if Russian Putin attends the G20 summit, the U.S. is likely to boycott. 

But if the U.S. boycotts, it could be even more problematic. That's because the countries leading the G20 summit could be China and Russia. 

The United States considers the ideals it leads in the world of international order. But in recent years, China and Russia have not listened. 

When I go to school, a friend (USA) who is 1st in both study and exercise in the same class is not very reluctant to see a friend who is 2nd in the same class (China) and a friend who is 2nd in exercise (Russia) get along with each other and fight with themselves. 

The United States has hinted at a boycott, but has not denied attendance. The United States needs to stabilize prices because of inflation. That's why it's likely that they will be in talks with other countries with a lot of resources to try to stabilize prices.
